Food donations, trips to provide on-the-ground assistance, humanitarian efforts of all kinds… People from all over the world have reached out to Venezuela following the severe damage caused by the twin earthquakes, measuring 7.2 and 7.5 on the Richter scale, on June 24. Bogotá is now joining this wave of solidarity to help its neighboring country in a different way: through music.
Specifically, a charity concert organized by the Fever platform, following the format of its famous Candlelight concerts. That is, by the light of thousands of candles and featuring live musicians. It will take place on August 2 at 6:15 p.m., and the net proceeds from ticket sales will go toward supporting relief efforts in the affected areas.
The Nueva Filarmonía Quartet and Transparency in Donations
Performing pro bono, the Nueva Filarmonía Quartet —composed of Dyanis Trujillo, Leonardo Romero, Tatiana Falla, and Maria Fernanda Flórez—will provide the music for this intimate charity concert at the Delia Zapata Olivella National Center for the Arts.
As for the donation mechanism, Fever is legally committed to making a subsequent corporate contribution equivalent to 100% of the concert’s net proceeds (defined as the ticket price minus applicable local taxes and payment processing fees) directly to local partner foundations.
“Alma Llanera” and “Let It Be” as part of the set list
This is not just any Candlelight concert, but one specifically designed for this charitable occasion. And, as such, its repertoire includes both Venezuelan anthems like “Alma Llanera ” and “Venezuela, ” as well as other globally recognized songs that have over time become symbols of hope, such as “Viva la Vida ” and “Here Comes the Sun.”
Lasting 60 minutes, this concert is intended to be a place of unity. It offers Venezuelans living in Bogotá the chance to reconnect with their roots from afar, while allowing the rest of the Colombian public to participate in relief efforts for their neighbors through a live concert.
If you won’t be in Bogotá on August 2 but still want to attend this charity event, Medellín also has one scheduled for the coming weeks. In fact, the concerts in Colombia aren’t the only Candlelight concerts for which Fever has already confirmed dates. Cities around the world—including Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Santiago de Chile, Buenos Aires, Miami, and New York —are also joining the same initiative.
The concert in Medellín will take place on July 27 at the Museum of Modern Art at 7:30 p.m. and will feature the Ámbar Quartet, composed of Daniela Trujillo, Diana María León, Dagoberto Torres, and Camilo Uribe.
