There are songs that need no introduction: just hearing the opening bars of “A Whole New World” is enough to take you back to Aladdin and Jasmine’s carpet ride, or hearing “Married Life” is enough to make you think of Carl and Ellie without anyone saying a word. Disney has been doing this for decades: turning love stories, goodbyes, family memories, and personal discoveries into melodies that stay with you forever.
And now those songs are coming to Bogotá with Candlelight: Disney Love Songs, a concert by the light of thousands of candles where a string quartet will perform live renditions of some of the most beloved soundtracks from the Disney universe. It will take place at the Fabio Lozano Auditorium at the Jorge Tadeo Lozano University of Bogotá, and tickets are officially on sale. Some sessions are already sold out, so hurry!

What to expect from Candlelight: Disney Love Songs?
The program serves as a journey through love in its many forms. There’s the romantic wonder of *A Whole New World*, when Jasmine discovers, alongside Aladdin, a world beyond the palace; the tenderness of *Beauty and the Beast*, in the dance between Belle and the Beast; and the everyday affection in *Bella Notte*, that spaghetti dinner from *Lady and the Tramp* that cinema made unforgettable.
But less obvious emotions also come to the fore. “Dos Oruguitas” from* * *Encanto* tells the story of Alma and Pedro through the lens of family love, loss, and hope; “Recuérdame” from *Coco: La Vida es una Fiesta* shifts in meaning throughout the film until it becomes a song about memory and legacy; and “Cuando Ella Me Amaba” from *Toy Story 2* recalls Jessie and Emily to speak to the pain of someone leaving.
There will also be room for the courage of “Breaking Free” from *High School Musical*, the desire for freedom in “I See the Light” from *Tangled*, and the unconditional protection of “You’ll Live in My Heart” from *Tarzan*. Seen in this light, these songs aren’t just about falling in love—they’re about growing up, remembering, caring, and daring.
For 60 minutes, the Candlelight format will bring these songs off the screen and into the center of a candlelit hall, with string arrangements that allow you to hear each melody from a different perspective: more intimate, clearer, without losing its recognizability.

The Fabio Lozano Auditorium doesn’t need to rely on a fantastical story to make this concert work: its strength lies in the music. Located in the Historic Center and part of the Jorge Tadeo Lozano University of Bogotá, this venue has become a hub for large-scale artistic, cultural, and musical events, thanks to acoustics designed specifically for live music.
That’s why listening to this repertoire here feels different: the candles play their part, but the stars of the evening are the string arrangements and an auditorium that’s already a benchmark for symphonic music in Bogotá. And while the concert retains the intimate feel of Candlelight, the venue adds a distinctly Bogotan touch: stepping onto the Tadeo campus and taking a seat in a hall where the experience is sustained, above all, by the quality of the sound.
