Designated a National Monument in 1975, it stands out for its design by Italian architect Pietro Cantini and for an interior that reflects the luxury of the Porfirian era: from the dome decorated by Spanish painter Ignacio Gómez Jaramillo to the marble and wrought-iron details that make it a true architectural gem, earning it the title of “the most luxurious” in the country.

If you’re driving, the theater does not have its own parking lot, but the Luis Ángel Arango Library parking lot is just a few steps away.
