The rooms and hallways of the iconic Hotel Tequendama have been repurposed to become a contemporary art circuit.
From September 18 to 27, the complex is hosting UN_FAIR, an international art fair that takes over various areas of the building to showcase works by local and international artists.
The event features 23 concurrent exhibitions and 15 monumental sculptures distributed throughout the venue.
The international exhibition features galleries from Japan, Mexico, the United States, and Venezuela, bringing a diverse cultural offering to the city center.
Art in the Heights and Gastronomy
The building’s design is intended to take advantage of the complex’s various levels.
A dining terrace has been installed on the fourth floor, offering a 360-degree view of the eastern hills.
Higher up, the fair transforms traditional accommodations into a visual experience: the suites on the 27th, 28th, and 29th floors are temporarily serving as private contemporary art galleries.
For the evening program, the action centers on the 30th floor, which comes alive with live music performances, offering a gathering space once the exhibition tours have concluded.
Support for regional galleries
In addition to the international presence, the fair has set aside a space to promote local talent. This edition opened its doors to artistic projects from Cali, Armenia, and Pereira, with the goal of supporting regional galleries and continuing to foster their creative output.
